Tammuz Organization for Social Development issues a statement thanking those who showed solidarity over the passing of two of its staff members who were lost during a terrorist attack in Iraq last in early April. Statement provided in Arabic below.
In deep sadness and sorrow, Tammuz Organization for Social Development mourns colleagues in Anbar. Tawfiq Al-Saub, director of the Al-Anbar Center, colleague Taleb Al-Issawi, and Othman Khalil, were killed in a terrorist incident at the hands of enemies of life. This incident occurred at 9:30pm on March 31st in the city of Fallujah. Mustafa Al-Kuhly was seriously injured as well. Tammuz Organization for Social Development condemns all acts of terrorism.

Startup Weekend is a global grassroots movement of active and empowered entrepreneurs who are learning the basics of founding startups and launching successful ventures. It is the largest community of passionate entrepreneurs with over 400 past events in 100 countries around the world in 2011.

On November 15, 2012, Sulaimany will host its first Startup Weekend, an event bringing together entrepreneurs, designers, developers, and startup enthusiasts to participate in 54 hours of taking innovative business ideas from concept to launch. Mercy Corps, USAID, and Google will principally sponsor this event in Iraq.
