Opening Baaj PHCC On 21st May 2018, IHAO opened Baaj Primary Healthcare Center in Baaj district, Nenawa. This district lies at the Syrian border, 300 kilometers away from the Mosul center and suffers lack of different types of services. In coordination with the Ministry of Health and the Nenawa Directorate of Health, IHAO is providing Primary Healthcare services supported by the Preemptive Love Coalition ("PLC") as well as Reproductive health services supported by the United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA). IHAO will continue supporting this district with livelihoods and food projects to encourage displaced people to return to their original place.

The United Iraqi Medical Society for Relief and Development (UIMS) Execute Al-Raheek AL-Makhtoom campaign Under the direct supervision of the civilian crisis management cell – prime minister office and with funding from The United Iraqi Medical Society for Relief and Development (UIMS) it had been completed from Distribution of (2100) integrated Ramadan food parcels in two Governorates (Nineveh - Al-Anbar) where it was distributed (900) Ramadan food parcels in Al-Shifa’a district in the right side of Al-Mosul City In Al-Anbar Governorate it was distributed (1200) Ramadan food parcels in Al-Baghdadi and Al-Obaidy district and the west of Rawa district to the displaced and returning and affected families

Following the recent discovery of suspected cases of measles in camps for internally displaced people (IDP) in Qayyarah, more than 42,000 children and adolescents were vaccinated against the potentially deadly virus by the international medical organization Médecins Sans Frontières/Doctors Without Borders (MSF), in collaboration with the Qayyarah Department of Health. The vaccination campaign took place in the eight camps of Qayyarah, known as Airstrip, Jed’ah 1-6 and Haj Ali and was carried out between 30 March and 2 May. Measles is an extremely contagious virus usually transmitted through sneezing and coughing and can spread devastatingly fast in overcrowded areas like IDP camps. Enabling People with Disabilities Continuing its aid and support to people with disabilities in West Mosul, IHAO distributed wheelchairs, air mattresses for bed sores, and necessary medications to 100 people with disabilities on 20/5/2018. The distribution was implemented in the Ninewa Rehabilitation Center for the Disabled in coordination with the Ninewa Directorate for Health and was based upon the IHAO medical teams' home assessments of the beneficiaries' needs and shortages. The project is being continued to support another 100 people and is funded by our partners the Preemptive Love Coalition ("PLC").
