The medical services and various medicines in addition to the medical supplies were immediately provided for our displaced people in the camp.
Ahmed gingerly moves his left foot, up and down slowly, while lying in a hospital bed in eastern Mosul. His face is gaunt and his speech laboured as he exchanges a few words with the medical staff who watch over him. A doctor nods encouragingly at the patient`s slow and steady progress. Three weeks ago, even these small movements were almost impossible. Since arriving to MSF`s Al Taheel hospital, Ahmed has received a series of surgeries and post-operative care for injuries sustained over four months ago in an explosion outside of his home. INSIDE MOSUL CITY West Mosul MSF just began activities inside of medical structure in West Mosul to provide life-saving trauma assistance for war-wounded in the final conflict area of the Old City, where an estimated 60,000 residents remain. The project includes surgery for war-wounded and emergency C-sections, short-term post-operative care and, maternity, an emergency room and a mass casualty intake room for triage in case of an influx of wounded patients. Emergency and Post Operative Care, Al-Taheel MSF opened an24/7 emergency room in Al Taheel hospital on 26 March. Erbil, June 23rd - At approximately 11:00 a.m. on Friday, June 23rd, MSF medical staff began to receive an influx of wounded patients at its newly-opened trauma project in West Mosul, Iraq.
