National campaign against COVID-19 Pandemic Iraq-2020 In cooperation with the World Health Organization (WHO) and the Ministry of Health and Environment (MoH), The United Iraqi Medical society for Relief and Development (UIMS) is implementing - Under the slogan “# Sahetak Amana” - a national campaign against COVID-19 pandemic in Iraq - Baghdad for one month June 29th till July 27th 2020. In the midst of COVID-19, over 1.3 million people in Iraq are still displaced and living in overcrowded and precarious shelters with unhygienic conditions. Today internally displaced people (IDPs) are amongst the most vulnerable facing the threat of COVID-19, warns the international medical humanitarian organisation Médecins Sans Frontières (MSF). The United Iraqi Medical Society for Relief & Development takes the initiative to sew masks in Salah al-Din Governorate The United Iraqi Medical Society for Relief & Development launched a gagging campaign at the Al Masara Center for Women’s Support, supported by the United Nations Population Fund, in the district of Shirqat in Salah al-Din Governorate in the light of the Corona pandemic .. the masks were distributed to citizens and some security agencies to ensure their safety from the risk of infection with the virus.
