UN Women Regional Director Visit to TAJDID Iraq Women Center in Mosul
On Thursday September 13th, 2018, our Women Support Center in Mosul received a kind visit from our donor (UN Women) regional director (Mr. Mohammed Naciri) and the Iraq representative (Mrs. Dina Zorba) and their team.
The Women Support Center (WSC) in Mosul opened on May 2018 by the TAJDID Iraq Foundation for Economic Development in partnership with the United Nations for Women and funded by the European Trust Fund (MADAD).
Since the end of the war in Mosul, it has been working to restore psychological and physical stability and provide legal support to the women who affected by war. The center implemented a Cash for Work (C4W) program that provide temporary job opportunities to women especially women who live on the west coast of the city because of the difficult conditions they suffered before, during and after the recent war against ISIS in Mosul.
Mr. Mohamed Naciri (Regional Director of UN Women in Arab Region), accompanied by Ms. Dina Zorba, Director-UN Women in Iraq, who oversees the implementation of the project, visited Mosul center, they also praised the cadres supervising the implementation of the project.
