NCCI’s Field Coordination Network (FCN) is a group of 25 local NGO partners who act as Focal Points (FP) in all of Iraq’s 18 governorates. The Focal Points provide a structure in the field that regularly provides information updates on humanitarian and development issues, and supports the field coordination efforts to ensure an all of Iraq approach.
Currently NCCI is conducting a review of the Field Coordination Network. As part of this review, NCCI is holding regional meetings with the focal points in northern, central and southern Iraq. The meeting for northern Iraq, the last of the three planned meetings, was held on the 30th of June in NCCI’s Erbil office. The participants included focal points from national NGOs operating in the governorates of Erbil, Kirkuk, Khanaqin, and Anbar. At the meeting, the attendants discussed the FCN work plan review, development and strengthening of the network’s capacity and structure.
So far this year, the focal points have produced 173 regular reports and 29 emergency reports from all over the country which provided information on the humanitarian situation to NCCI’s members and partners through more than 20 humanitarian weekly field reports. The network also helped NCCI to provide information and respond to specific requests and services in the different Iraqi provinces.
